We had an amazing stay at this cozy hostel! The staff were incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. The Japanese-style room we stayed in was comfortable and gave us a true local experience. The futon was super soft, and we loved the rustic atmosphere. In addition, the neighborhood was nice and had great places to eat, like the recommended Nihonmatsu.

The bathroom facilities could use some improvement, as there was only one western toilet and it wasn't conveniently located near the sleeping area.

The staff and owner were incredibly friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to provide recommendations and assistance during our stay. The location was also convenient, with key attractions within walking distance. the hostel was clean and well-maintained, giving us a comfortable and quiet place to rest.

The lack of air conditioning made it difficult to sleep comfortably, especially during the summer months. This was a major downside as it affected our overall experience.

what a fantastic stay! haven't been to nagano in years and was hesitant about returning, but 1166 backpackers truly blew me away. from the friendly staff who went above and beyond, to the helpful recommendations for local gems, they made my birthday celebration unforgettable. the communal living area and local treats added such a cozy touch. exceeded expectations!
